Princess Tutu really didn't have to worry this episode. Even if Kraehe didn't have a fate to be loved by only 2 people I think Femio is enough of an idiot to still ruin her plans.
Speaking of fate, Mytho's mockery of Rue's effort in the end made me think a bit more about how both sides are at a severe disadvantage now. The only person, other than her father, that Kraehe can be loved by is Mytho. His current 'dark' side's comment certainly doesn't instill any confidence that he'd ever really love her. Mytho's real self is in love with Tutu so she can't have him that way. On the other hand Tutu can't say she loves Mytho at all. So even if she gets him his heart and true personality back she's still stuck.

I don't know why they make such a fuss over Kraehe's "loss". Femio is so self-centered he wouldn't fall for anyone, even for Mytho or Raven himself, for God's sake!

Finally an episode somewhat free of all the predictability of the show. Femio, an utterly bonkers of a character provided some life in the show which to be honest, was getting a tad stale in the previous couple of episodes.
Kraehe/Rue's position is probably the most fragile, given how the dark Mytho disregards her at times. Also I rarely go for shippings, but I wouldn't mind Fakir and Ahiru ending up together.
But that wouldn't be destiny, would it now?

Well, I don't care much for Femio, but the results of this episode were great. It's not often in these types of shows where the 'villain' is foiled without the intervention of the hero, which makes it remarkable in itself. But then the continuing introspection going on within Rue's head makes her a very interesting character.

I agree with the comments here. This episode was a breath of fresh air. More introspection on Rue, and the guy rescuing himself. You gotta feel for Rue, but that's how Shoujo is. That's why the show is meta. No matter what Rue does, no guy will ever fully commit to her. No matter what Duck does, she seems to have people falling for her.

I just love all the detail put into the rules and rituals Fakir needs to follow to realize himself as Drosselmeyer's descendant. I loved that we get to see both moments like Mytho's cruelty towards Rue, and Ahiru's care for Fakir (when calling for him as the tree) in the same episode. It's such a full range of emotion❤️ And the very end where she holds him and he softly says he heard her voice 🥺🥺😭 how it showed that her fears of being "unable to do anything/help" were unfounded and they both felt so vulnerable with eachother ❤️❤️❤️❤️ so good!
Haha I am so glad that MAL exists so I have a place where I can gush about individual episodes like this!
